Who Am I?

  • EdD in Counseling Studies from American Professional School of Psychology
  • MA in Marriage and Family Therapy from Southern Nazarene University
  • BS in Family Studies and Gerontology at Southern Nazarene University
Prior to entering into private practice, I was employed as an inpatient therapist by Integris Mental Health for 6 years. Prior to working at Integris Health, I was employed at the Parent’s Assistance Center and was involved in the development of the curriculum for therapeutic play groups for children ages 3 to 12 and received a dedication of service award for my work on the curriculum and with the children.

Although my primary orientation to psychotherapy is Cognitive Behavioral, I am more eclectic in my style and proficient in many other theories. Although I am comfortable working with individuals having various mental health concerns, my specialties are trauma, depression, and anxiety. My recent passion is working with women and empowerment following traumatic relationships. With my partners, Donnie Van Curen LMFT and Susie Waugh RN, I am excited about the recent establishment of our nonprofit organization, Pier 34 Foundation. I was born and raised in Oklahoma City, OK and in my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family of 7, reading, and spending time in the outdoors.
